Relaxation of unemployment benefit

The MTSS in the Resolution of May 7, 2020, made more flexible the work periods that employees must compute to access the subsidy due to total suspension of activity.

We discuss the updates below:

.

Monthly workers

.

Monthly workers must have registered 6 months on the work sheet, in this case the amount of the subsidy will be 50% of the average of computable nominal wages received in the six months immediately prior to the causal setting.

Workers who registered between 3 and 5 months on the payroll will be entitled to a subsidy equivalent to 25% of the average of the computable nominal wages previously received.

The minimum employment relationship required must have been met in the twelve months immediately prior to March 31, 2020.

Day laborers

Day laborers who computed at least 150 wages, the amount of the subsidy will be 12 monthly wages.

On the other hand, those who registered between 75 and 149 wages will be entitled to a subsidy that will be equivalent to 6 monthly wages.

The minimum employment relationship required must have been met in the twelve months immediately prior to March 31, 2020.

They will not have the right to benefit from the special unemployment benefit regime:

.

  • People who receive retirement or pre-retirement advance

  • People who are on strike

  • People who were fired or suspended for disciplinary reasons

  • People who receive other income, except for workers in the activity groups of Teaching Services, Recreation and Communication Services and Trade Union, Social and Sports Entities, the amount of the subsidy for them will be 50% of the amount corresponding to them according to what discussed above.

This special unemployment benefit regime will cover the total suspension of tasks corresponding to the months of April and May of the year 2020.

.

Employers will be able to enter applications through the common unemployment web functionality on the BPS page as of Monday, May 18, which will remain in pending status until processed and, verifying that they meet the conditions, will begin to be paid from Monday, June 15.
